Holiday essentials people forget most often
During holidays, most pet parents don’t forget the big things — they forget the “almost empty” things. These are the most common holiday restocks:
- Cat litter (because it runs out faster when everyone is home)
- Dry food (especially larger households with multiple pets)
- Wet food (for picky eaters, seniors, or pets who get stressed)
- Chews (for calming and keeping dogs busy during visits)
- Odor control (extra important when guests are coming)

Holiday tip: plan a “2-day buffer” for essentials
A simple holiday trick that prevents last-minute panic is keeping a tiny “buffer supply” of your basics. For example:
- Keep 2 extra days of food in the container before holidays begin
- Keep an extra litter bag stored away, even if it’s small
- Grab a backup chew or enrichment toy for busy family gatherings
That way, even if you forget something, it’s never an emergency.
