Canada Pooch

Canada Pooch is a Toronto-born dog apparel brand built for real Canadian weather, and this collection carries 8 of its most-requested pieces: suspender boots, the Basic Sock, Soft Shield reflective boots, the Dog Snowsuit and the Chill Seeker cooling vest. Prices run from $12.99 to $122.99 CAD.

Which Canada Pooch boots should you choose?

Boot choice usually comes down to how your dog walks and how much they tolerate on their feet. The Dog Suspender Boots in red (also stocked in black and pink) use an attached suspender strap, which helps keep boots on dogs that kick them off mid-walk or have slimmer legs.

The Soft Shield Reflective Dog Boots in black are the pick for dark winter mornings and evening walks, since the reflective detailing adds visibility along sidewalks and unlit paths. Dogs new to footwear often do better starting with a softer boot before moving to anything stiffer.

What about socks instead of boots?

Not every dog needs full outdoor footwear. The Basic Sock in grey (also available in red) is the budget-friendly entry point at the low end of this collection's range, and it suits indoor use on hardwood and tile, or layering under boots for dogs that find them loose. Senior dogs who slip on smooth floors are the most common candidates.

Cold-weather versus warm-weather picks

• Winter: the Dog Snowsuit in black gives full-body coverage for deep snow, slush and long walks in the cold.
• Shoulder season: boots or socks alone are often enough once sidewalks are wet rather than frozen.
• Summer: the Dog Chill Seeker Cooling Vest in aqua is the warm-weather counterpart for dogs that overheat on humid GTA afternoons.

Getting the size right

Apparel and footwear are the two categories pet owners return most often, almost always for fit. Before ordering, measure your dog's back length from collar to tail base, their chest at the widest point, and the width of a front paw while they are standing with weight on it. Measuring a lifted paw gives a smaller number than the boot actually needs.

If you would rather compare fit in person, every piece here is available for same-day pickup in North York, and we ship Canada-wide for everyone outside the GTA. You can also browse the wider Canadian-made pet products collection for more locally designed gear.
