Belcando - Adult Dinner Chicken & Fish Dry Dog Food

TL;DR: Belcando Adult Dinner Chicken & Fish is a dry dog food formulated for adult dogs, combining chicken and fish as its protein sources. It suits owners feeding a grown dog a straightforward daily kibble with two animal proteins in one recipe.

This Belcando recipe is a complete dry food for the adult life stage, meaning it is intended as a dog's everyday meal rather than a topper or supplement. Chicken and fish supply the animal protein in the formula.

Dry food like this is measured by weight, so many owners shop by bag size — a 4kg dog food bag is a common choice for single-dog households feeding one adult dog daily. Buying a bag size that gets used within a few weeks of opening helps keep kibble fresh.

Who is it for?

Adult dogs past the puppy growth stage who eat a dry diet. It is a reasonable pick for owners who want poultry and fish proteins together instead of a single-protein recipe.

Dogs with a confirmed sensitivity to chicken or fish should be fed a different protein. If your dog is on a veterinarian-directed diet, check with your vet before switching foods.

Grain free vs grain dog food — how does this fit?

The grain free vs grain dog food question comes down to what your individual dog tolerates and what your veterinarian recommends, not a universal rule. The conversation around grain free dog food and heart disease is one many owners raise with their vet; it is a discussion to have with your veterinary team rather than something to settle from a label.

If you prefer a grain-free recipe from the same brand, Belcando's grain-free line is worth comparing: Belcando - Grain Free Beef Adult Dry Dog Food, Belcando - Grain Free Lamb Adult Dry Dog Food, and Belcando - Grain Free Ocean Adult Dry Dog Food.

Feeding & use

Follow the feeding guide printed on the bag, which sets daily amounts by your dog's body weight. Split the daily portion across one or two meals and keep fresh water available at all times.

When changing from a previous food, transition over roughly seven days: start with about a quarter of the new food mixed into the old, then increase the share every couple of days until the switch is complete. Store the bag sealed in a cool, dry place and weigh portions rather than eyeballing them if your dog's weight needs managing.
