Adult cats whose owners want a grain-free, chicken-based dry food as the daily staple. It is not formulated for kittens, so households with cats under a year old should feed a kitten-stage diet instead.

If you are reading a Leonardo dry cat food review to compare recipes, the main decision point here is protein: this is the chicken version. Is grain free cat food good or bad?

Grain-free simply means cereal grains are left out of the recipe; the carbohydrate is supplied another way. It is a useful choice for owners avoiding wheat or corn in the bowl, and a neutral choice for everyone else — the quality of the overall formula matters more than the grain-free label alone. If your cat has a diagnosed dietary issue, your veterinarian should guide the decision.

Cat dry food vs wet food — which should you choose?

Dry food is shelf-stable once opened, easy to portion, and convenient for multi-meal days. Wet food carries more moisture, which some owners prefer for cats who drink little water. Many households run both: kibble like this Leonardo recipe for measured daily meals, with wet food served alongside.

Feeding & use

Follow the feeding chart on the bag, matching the daily amount to your cat's weight and activity level, and adjust from there based on body condition. Keep fresh water available at all times, especially on a dry-food diet.

When switching from a previous food, transition gradually over about a week — start with roughly a quarter of the new food mixed into the old, then increase the proportion each day. Store the bag sealed in a cool, dry place to protect the kibble's texture and flavour.
