Bergamo

Looking for a Bergamo pet crate or carrier? This collection gathers 11 Bergamo pieces, including the Gipsy Eco Metal Door Carrier in small and large sizes, alongside the brand's litter boxes, scoops and puppy pad trays. Bergamo has been making its products in-house in Italy since 1997, and prices here range from $2.14 to $59.99 CAD.

Which Bergamo pet carrier suits your dog or cat?

Bergamo's Gipsy Eco range is offered in two sizes, so start with your pet rather than the label. Measure your cat or dog from nose to base of tail and from floor to the top of the shoulders while standing, then choose a carrier that lets them turn around and lie down without pressing against the sides.

• Small pets: the Gipsy Eco small metal door carrier suits cats, kittens and toy or small-breed dogs for vet visits and short trips.
• Larger pets: the large Gipsy Eco version gives broader-bodied cats and mid-size dogs more floor space and headroom.

A metal front door is worth noting if your pet is a determined nudger, and it keeps sightlines open, which many cats settle into more quickly than a fully enclosed box.

Bergamo litter boxes: open, hooded or starter kit?

Beyond carriers, most of this collection is litter management. The choice comes down to how much privacy your cat wants and how much space you have.

• Hooded boxes such as the Ariel with top and the Romeo with top and filter contain scatter and suit cats that prefer to be out of sight. The Romeo Maxi is the pick for large cats or multi-cat homes.
• Corner models like the Ariel corner version tuck into tight bathrooms and condo laundry nooks.
• Starter setups: the Birba litter pan starter kit pairs a pan with the basics for a first cat or a second box on another floor.

Scoops and puppy pad trays

The Litter Scoop Elektra and Litter Scoop Shaker handle daily cleanup, while the Tray for Puppy Pads holds pads flat for house-training dogs and senior pets.
