SquarePet

SquarePet is a targeted-nutrition pet food line built around specific dietary needs rather than one all-purpose recipe. At Ashario Pets you'll find nine SquarePet items in stock, spanning dry dog food, soft baked dog treats, and dry cat food, from $13.05 to $144.99 CAD.

The brand comes from Peter and Nancy Atkins. Peter spent decades in pet food development, working on high-meat grain-free kibble, probiotics, and novel protein sources before launching SquarePet with a focus on natural ingredients and formula-specific nutrition.

Which SquarePet dog food should I choose?

Start with the dietary concern, not the flavour. SquarePet names its dry dog foods after the need they are built around, which makes the shortlist straightforward:

• Low Fat — for dogs whose owners are managing fat intake on a vet's guidance. The SquarePet Low Fat Dry Dog Food is the collection's top seller.
• Ideal Digestion — a good first choice for dogs with sensitive stomachs or inconsistent stools. See SquarePet Ideal Digestion Dry Dog Food.
• Skin & Digestive Support — formulated for dogs who need both coat and gut support in one bag, so you aren't rotating two diets.
• Active Joints — intended to support joint health in large-breed, working, or senior dogs.
• Low Phosphorus — a specialty formula for owners following a vet-directed mineral-restricted plan.

Matching treats to the food

Two soft baked treat options mirror the kibble formulas: Low Fat and Skin & Digestive Support. If your dog is on a restricted diet, keeping treats in the same family avoids undoing the work of the main meal. The Low Fat Formula Soft Baked Dog Treats pair naturally with the Low Fat kibble, and soft texture suits dogs who chew gently or are older.

What about SquarePet for cats?

Cat owners have two dry recipes to compare, and the choice is mostly about protein preference. Feline Turkey & Chicken suits cats already eating poultry-based food, while Feline Herring & Salmon is the option for fish-forward eaters or for rotating proteins in a household with picky cats.

Buying SquarePet in Toronto and across Canada

Ashario Pets stocks SquarePet at our North York store with same-day pickup, and ships Canada-wide if you're outside the GTA. If you're switching formulas, buy the smallest available bag first and transition gradually over seven to ten days so your pet adjusts comfortably. Questions about which formula fits your pet's situation are best confirmed with your veterinarian, especially for the low phosphorus and low fat diets.
