ZIWI

ZIWI is a New Zealand pet food maker known for air-dried and canned recipes built on ethically sourced, free-range meats with no fillers. This collection carries 24 ZIWI items for cats and dogs, including canned mackerel and lamb, beef, lamb, venison and chicken, plus air-dried beef and chicken. You can buy ZIWI in Canada here with same-day pickup in North York and shipping Canada-wide.

Is ZIWI the same as ZIWI Peak?

Yes. The brand many shoppers still search as ZIWI Peak now goes by ZIWI, and the recipes are made in New Zealand. If you have been feeding an older ZIWI Peak bag or can, the current lineup is the same brand under its shorter name.

Air-dried or canned: which format suits your pet?

Air-dried food is gently dried rather than cooked at high heat, so it stays shelf-stable and pours like kibble. It works well as a complete meal, a topper over existing food, or a training reward that travels without refrigeration. ZIWI beef air-dried and canned dog food options both suit dogs used to meat-forward diets.

Canned recipes carry more moisture, which many cat owners prefer for pets that drink little water on their own. They are also easier for seniors and small mouths to manage.

Choosing a ZIWI cat food recipe

Most ZIWI cat shoppers start with a single novel protein or a simple pairing. Mackerel and lamb canned cat food is the best seller in this collection and suits cats that gravitate toward fish. Beef and lamb are steady everyday choices, while venison canned cat food gives you a less common protein if your cat has already eaten a lot of chicken and fish.

Choosing a ZIWI dog food recipe

For dogs, beef, lamb and chicken are available in both canned and air-dried formats. Large dogs fed exclusively on air-dried food go through it quickly, so the bigger bag sizes are usually the more practical buy. Smaller dogs and households doing rotation feeding often do better with cans plus a bag of air-dried used as a topper.

How to switch your pet to ZIWI

  • Introduce over 7 to 10 days, mixing a growing share of ZIWI into the current food.
  • Follow the feeding guide on the pack; air-dried food is dense, so portions look smaller than kibble.
  • Keep one protein consistent at first, then rotate once your pet has settled.
  • Speak with your veterinarian before changing diets for a pet with a diagnosed health condition.
