ZippyPaws

ZippyPaws makes plush, squeaky and crinkle dog toys shaped like everyday food and drink items, and this collection brings together 15 of them for Canadian shoppers, ranging from $6.84 to $27.30 CAD. Best-sellers include the NomNomz plush, the Squeakie Can, Happy Hour Crusherz, the Hedgehog and the Tuff Donut. Everything here ships Canada-wide, with same-day pickup available at our North York store.

Which ZippyPaws dog toy should you choose?

The easiest way to narrow the range is by how your dog actually plays. Most dogs fall into one of three camps: squeaker chasers, shakers and shredders, or quiet cuddlers.

• Squeak-driven players: the NomNomz plush dog toy and the Squeakie Can are built around the noise, which keeps fetch and tug games interesting for dogs that lose focus fast.
• Crunch and crinkle fans: Happy Hour Crusherz and Hot Sauce Crusherz use a crushable bottle inside a plush cover, while Spencer the Crinkle Monkey delivers a paper-like crinkle sound instead of a squeak.
• Rougher play: the Tuff Donut comes from ZippyPaws' Tuff line and is the one to reach for if plush toys usually come apart quickly in your house.
• Settled, quieter dogs: Snooziez with Shhhqueaker uses a muted squeaker, which is a sensible pick for apartments and evening play.

Sizing and small dogs

Match toy size to mouth size. Small breeds and puppies generally do better with compact options such as the Hedgehog, while a larger dog will hold onto a bigger plush without swallowing it whole. If you are unsure, size up rather than down.

Gifts and birthdays

The 3 Piece Pup Birthday Box and the Birthday Cake dog toy are the usual choices for gotcha days and puppy showers, since they arrive ready to hand over without extra wrapping.

How to use plush toys safely

Plush and squeaky toys are interactive toys, not chew toys. Supervise play, take the toy away once stuffing or a squeaker is exposed, and rotate two or three toys through the week so novelty lasts longer. Dogs that systematically dismantle plush should stay on tougher formats.
