Advantage II - Flea & Tick Medicine

TL;DR: Advantage II - Flea & Tick Medicine is a monthly spot-on topical for kittens 8 weeks and older weighing under 2.3 kg. It kills fleas on contact — no bite required — begins working within 12 hours, and stays waterproof for 30 days per dose. Choose Advantage 2 for kittens if you want a flea treatment dosed specifically for small, young cats.

This is a fragrance-free, non-greasy liquid applied to the skin between the shoulder blades. One tube covers a full 30-day period, so it fits neatly into a monthly parasite-care routine.

What does this topical do?

Advantage II kills fleas through contact, which means fleas don't need to bite your kitten for the treatment to work. It targets multiple flea life stages and helps prevent re-infestation for up to 30 days per application.

Which size should you choose?

This Advantage cat flea and tick treatment line comes in three weight-based options: Kitten, Small Cat, and Large Cat. Match the option to your cat's current weight so each tube delivers the correct dose — the Kitten size is intended for cats under 2.3 kg.

Who is it for?

This size is made for owners of kittens under 2.3 kg who want a monthly flea solution scaled to a small cat. It's suitable from 8 weeks of age, which makes it a practical first flea treatment for newly adopted kittens once they meet both the age and weight thresholds.

Households with more than one pet often need more than one product. If you also have a dog at home, see Advantage II - Flea & Tick Medicine for small dogs or Advantix II - Flea & Tick Medicine. For outdoor season, the Ectopet - Tick Removal Kit is a useful companion for checks between doses.

Feeding & use

Apply the full contents of one tube directly to the skin between the shoulder blades, where your kitten can't lick it off. Part the fur, hold the applicator tip against the skin, and squeeze until the tube is empty.

Let the application dry before bathing your kitten or allowing them to get wet. Reapply every 30 days for continuous coverage, and confirm your kitten meets the 8-week age and under-2.3 kg weight requirements before each use.

Always follow the directions printed on your specific tube. If you're unsure whether your kitten has outgrown this size, weigh them before buying the next month's dose.
